Karen Carelli
Hi! My name is Karen Carelli.
After retiring in June 2025 from a rewarding 35-year career in education, I am excited to be following my lifelong passion for travel as a Travel Planner with Pixie Travel. I live in Fairfield, Connecticut, and spend part of the winter in California with my parents—where there’s nothing quite like wearing flip-flops in 80-degree sunshine surrounded by snow-capped mountains and beautiful blue skies!
Travel has always been an important part of my life. Growing up, my family spent the winter holidays exploring different Caribbean islands, and those experiences sparked my love for discovering new places and cultures. During my teaching career, I also worked with an international student travel company, escorting teens on unforgettable adventures to destinations including Costa Rica, Italy, Croatia, and Fiji.
Since retiring, I’ve embraced every opportunity to explore the world even more. Over the past year alone, I’ve visited more than 15 countries, including Spain, Portugal, France, Germany, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Bermuda, and multiple Caribbean islands. I’ve also enjoyed both ocean and river cruising, completing four incredible cruises in the past year.
Family is at the center of everything I do. I have two grown sons living in New York City, and I’m especially excited to become a grandmother in Fall 2026 when my oldest son and daughter-in-law welcome their baby girl!
One of my favorite parts of travel is the planning process itself. I truly enjoy researching destinations, organizing details, and creating personalized itineraries tailored to each client’s unique interests, travel style, and budget. I believe travel should feel exciting and stress-free, allowing families and friends to focus on making meaningful memories together.
